Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Emagine Reality (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Margin application and website (together, the “Service”). The short version: your tasks are yours, we collect only what we need to run the Service, and we don't sell your data.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, and password (stored hashed) when you create an account.
• Content you create. Tasks, ideas, notes, projects, categories, and related metadata (due dates, effort estimates, completion history) you enter into the Service.
• Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
• Usage data. Basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps) used for security and to improve the Service.
• Calendar availability. If you connect a calendar or an assistant integration, we receive only the information needed to plan your day (such as your open time), not the contents of your events unless you choose to share them.

2. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To process subscriptions and send transactional emails.
• To respond to support requests.
• To protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To send occasional product updates you can opt out of at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of your tasks or notes for advertising.

3. AI assistant integrations

Margin can connect to AI assistants (for example, via the Model Context Protocol). These integrations act only on your explicit instruction and only on your own data. When you connect an assistant, the assistant provider's own privacy policy also applies to the requests you make through it.

4. Sharing

We share information only with:

• Service providers that host our infrastructure, process payments, and deliver email, under contracts that limit how they may use it.
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.
• A successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export your data or delete your account at any time from within the app; deletion removes your content from our production systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach affecting your data as required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@moremargin.app.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
